Ingredients

Units Scale

Truffle Burger Patties

  • 1.5 lbs High-quality ground beef (a blend of sirloin and brisket works well)
  • 23 tbsp Black truffle butter or truffle oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Freshly ground black pepper

Spicy Truffle Aioli

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Hot sauce (adjust to desired heat)
  • 2 teaspoons Black Truffle oil
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 clove Garlic (finely minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (adjust to your spice preference)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Other Ingredients

  • 4 Brioche buns
  • 8 slices Crispy bacon
  • Arugula
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onion
  • Cheese slices (such as Gruyere or Brie or regular Swiss if truffle cheese is not available)

Instructions

Prepare the Truffle Burger Patties:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, truffle butter or oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the truffle flavor is evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Make the Truffle Aioli:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, truffle oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined. Adjust the seasoning to taste, then cover and refrigerate the aioli until ready to use.

Grill the Patties:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (I prefer charcoal briquettes for maximum flavor). Place the burger patties on the grill and cook to your desired level of doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of truffle cheese to allow it to melt.
  2. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the brioche buns on the grill until they are golden brown and warmed through.

Assemble the Hamburgers:

  1. Spread a generous amount of truffle aioli on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  2. Arrange a layer of arugula, followed by sliced tomatoes and red onions on top of the aioli.
  3. Place a cooked patty with melted truffle cheese on top of the vegetables.
  4. Add two slices of crispy bacon on top of each patty.
  5. Complete the burgers by placing the other half of the toasted buns on top.
  6. Serve the sumptuous truffle burgers alongside your favorite sides or a glass of full-bodied red wine for a truly gourmet indulgence.
